About Leprosy Care India Association

Leprosy Care India Association is a grassroots initiative dedicated to uplifting individuals and communities who have long been pushed to the margins of society. Our work goes beyond leprosy-we stand with persons with disabilities (PWDs), women, gender minorities, and all those facing social and economic exclusion.

Our Story

Inspired by lived experience and a deep sense of justice, our founder, Balram Ghoshal, began this journey in Vrindavan, Mathura. Witnessing the challenges of stigma, discrimination, and lost opportunities, he envisioned an organization where dignity, opportunity, and inclusion are not privileges, but rights for all.

Our Mission

We empower marginalized people-whether affected by leprosy, living with disabilities, women, or other vulnerable groups-by building pathways to education, employment, and social acceptance. Our mission is to break cycles of stigma and dependence, and to help every individual realize their potential.

Our Values

  • Dignity & Respect: Every person deserves to be seen, heard, and valued.
  • Empowerment: We foster self-reliance through skills, knowledge, and confidence.
  • Inclusion: We celebrate diversity and work to erase barriers-social, economic, or digital.
  • Collaboration: We believe in partnerships-with communities, organizations, and changemakers like you.
  • Integrity: Transparency and trust guide all our actions.
